Strengthening Social Dialogue for the Colatina and Sao Gabriel da Palha Regions (Espirito Santo) / Spreading Sustainable Fash

Initiative created to reinforce the social dialogue between workers and employers through roundtable discussions involving labor leaderships, trade unions, and small business owners to promote sustainable fashion.  Additionally, to establish collective agreements that value decent work and improve workers’ benefits.

Seed Funding: R$ 10.000 (2019) e R$ 7.125,00 (2020)

Outcomes: 

  • Gatherings with 110 participants involving discussions on racial and gender equity; 
  • Commencement of dialogues to establish a partnership with Instituto C&A and The International Labour Organization (ILO) for the development of a methodology that can be scaled up; 
  • First-ever event in the sector’s organizational history where workers and employers representatives established a dialogue agenda addressing gender inequality and discrimination against LGBTQIA+ individuals;
  • Active reflection by participants on a fairer and more sustainable sector, as well as their reality and challenges.
